Last month, NALS Apartment Homes proudly continued its tradition with its 8th Annual Volunteer Week. Our teams look forward to this year's event, as it provides a dedicated opportunity to give back to the communities we serve across the country and a time for team members to connect in meaningful ways. Each of our communities temporarily closed its doors to spend the day volunteering with an organization of their choice.
A few of the many highlights include:
The Pinnacle Highland team from Cottonwood Heights, UT, volunteered at Tiny Tim’s Foundation for Kids to build wooden toy cars. This organization creates toys, clothing, blankets, hygiene kits, and school kits that are distributed to children in need around the world.
Three of our Tucson, AZ communities, Finisterra, Sonoran Terraces, and The Legends at La Paloma, joined forces to volunteer at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Together, they helped pack 5,523 food boxes for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), which will be distributed across five counties in Southern Arizona.
The Pacific Northwest teams across Washington and Oregon contributed their time to Reclaiming Hope Ranch, an organization dedicated to children with a history of foster care and adoption. They provide a safe place for them to discover their gifts, values, and a sense of belonging through various ranch activities. Our teams had a fulfilling day of hard work on the Horse Care team, which included food preparation and cleaning the ranch.
The NALS HQ office also participated in a volunteer day at PATH. This organization offers an interim housing program serving individual men and women and providing access to 100 beds year-round. Our HQ team spent the day wrapping donated gifts, decorating the dining hall for the holiday season, and assisting with lunch service.
As we reflect on this week, we’re reminded of how worthwhile it is to come together in service of our communities. We are deeply grateful for the incredible organizations that welcomed us, guided us, and allowed us the opportunity to give back in a hands-on, impactful way. Their dedication inspires us, and we’re honored to support their mission. Thank you to every partner who helped make this week such a rewarding experience!
