The essence of "NALS Volunteer Week" lies in its distinctive ability to unite teams across the nation in giving back to their local communities. The collective efforts of Team NALS translated into an impressive amount of community service hours, with volunteers contributing their time to shelters, food banks, and mentoring programs.
The HQ Office had the honor of volunteering at PATH Santa Barbara, an interim housing facility that not only provides safe living spaces but also offers a range of essential services, including employment assistance and rapid rehousing. Team members spent the day preparing food, dishing out plates for the lunch service, and assembling hygiene kits to be given out to those in need.
As the NALS Volunteer Week came to an end, heartfelt stories and shared experiences reverberated within the walls of each office. The impact of this collective effort extended beyond the immediate communities served, touching the lives of NALS team members in positive ways. Many employees expressed gratitude for the opportunity to step outside their daily routines and contribute to causes that resonated deeply with them. Bonds created during volunteer activities have transcended the workplace, creating a lasting sense of unity and shared purpose among colleagues. Throughout the week-long festivities, communities celebrated their maintenance teams in a variety of ways – from providing snacks and meals to fuel them for their hard work to decorating their leasing offices and maintenance golf carts with signs of appreciation. In addition, each of the 250 maintenance team members across the portfolio was given a branded “NALS Maintenance Appreciation Week” Leatherman super tool that is lightweight, versatile and includes 14 different features. At the end of the week, each region’s maintenance teams enjoyed a fun afternoon bonding with each other over Top Golf or bowling at Pinstack.
