NALS<\/strong><\/div>\n
This month, NALS offices closed their doors for a morning of volunteer work out in their local communities. It was the company’s second ever annual Volunteer Week, expanded to the full month to accommodate more volunteers, causes, and locations. In total, 456 team members nationwide participated in 16 volunteer projects across 10 states. It was a sincere privilege to “give where we live” and serve the local neighborhoods we’re proud to call home!

\nWhile many communities hold their own fundraising and donation events during the holidays, “NALS Volunteer Week” presents a unique opportunity for sister communities to combine forces for an amplified impact volunteering for a local organization. This year’s locations included assisted living centers, food banks, kindness education programs, and women’s shelters. “We had an excellent time! It is an incredibly rewarding team-building event that also does so much for those in need,” shared District Manager Sara Brown. “Team NALS” contributed over 1,800 hours of community service with a smile this month.

The Corporate Office was privileged to volunteer at PATH Santa Barbara<\/a> , an interim housing facility and Santa Barbara’s only emergency winter shelter, as they prepared for double occupancy during the winter months. “PATH is more than just a homeless shelter. They provide counseling services for retired vets, mental health, and drug and alcohol abuse, and they work with each person to help them get a job. They do so much,” explains Kjersti Powell, NALS’s Investor Relations Manager. NALS staff helped PATH prepare for winter occupancy by cleaning common areas, organizing donations, serving food, and preparing bedrolls and toiletry kits. “Our full-time staff doesn’t increase this season, so we really rely on volunteers,” shared John "JB" Bowlin, PATH’s tireless Volunteer Coordinator, “every little bit counts.” <\/p>\n
We owe a big thanks to all our Volunteer Coordinators from every region who not only worked hard to accommodate our volunteer groups, but also truly embodied and inspired the giving spirit. Thank you to all our partners!<\/strong><\/p>\n
NALS Apartment Homes embraces the opportunity to grow and create connections in our communities through volunteer efforts. We are grateful for all our employees that donated their time and skills over the past month with eagerness and cheer. As Bridget Lenhardt from The Salvation Army put it, “You are amazing individuals – with many gifts and talents!” Our company looks forward to supporting more volunteering events in the future.<\/p>\n
